Tesla has started pushing FSD (Supervised) v14.3.7 to customer cars, and this one arrives with a very specific job: prove that the rough edges some drivers found in v14.3.6 were only temporary.
The software build is 2026.21.5. Its published release notes are unchanged from the previous version, so there is no shiny new feature for owners to hunt down.
Instead, the early question is whether Tesla quietly repaired the hesitation, steering twitch and driver-input problems that made the last patch feel like a step backward in some cars.
The first substantial drives are already producing sharply different answers.
After 115 miles, one owner reported that the previous hesitation and steering-wheel twitch had disappeared. Lane changes felt more proactive, reaction time was strong and even Hurry mode delivered its acceleration more smoothly.

Not a Tesla App lists August 1 as the release date for build 2026.21.5 and identifies it as FSD (Supervised) v14.3.7 for HW4 versions of Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y and Cybertruck.
The rollout began narrowly. TeslaFi data on the release page initially showed only two cars, which is a reminder that the first owner reports are evidence from individual drives—not a verdict on the entire fleet.
The published notes are the same ones attached to v14.3.6. They still describe a substantial v14.3 stack: an upgraded reinforcement-learning stage and vision encoder, a ground-up rewrite of the AI compiler and runtime using MLIR, and a claimed 20 percent improvement in reaction time.
Those notes also cover better complex-intersection handling, stronger responses to emergency vehicles and school buses, improved driver monitoring, and one model shared across Actually Smart Summon, FSD and Robotaxi. What the notes do not say is what changed specifically between .6 and .7.
That missing patch-level detail leaves the road tests to tell the story.
One of the first video drives landed on the opposite side of the debate. After a rough week with v14.3.6, the owner said his initial v14.3.7 experience felt frustratingly similar.

The disagreement makes v14.3.7 more interesting than its recycled notes suggest. A point release does not need a new menu or flashy visualization to matter. If it restores confidence at complex turns and stops fighting a driver’s signal input, owners will feel the difference immediately.
Teslarati documented the v14.3.6 baseline in detail on July 27. Its first-person review described hesitation while turning into multi-lane roads, moments when the car drifted over dashed lane markings, and steering-wheel twitch before the system committed to a lane.
The reviewer also reported that FSD repeatedly canceled a manually entered turn signal while approaching a lane that ended shortly ahead. After three attempts to direct the car left, he disengaged and finished the trip manually.
It was not a blanket condemnation. Highway behavior remained strong, the sudden “bird braking” seen in earlier versions did not return, and the car appeared to remember a preferred convenience-store entrance and assigned parking space.
That mix is why a follow-up patch matters. v14.3.6 could be impressive for most of a drive and still lose a driver’s confidence during the one indecisive turn that demanded immediate attention.
Tesla explains that its Vehicle Safety Report counts a collision as FSD-engaged when the system was active at any point during the five seconds before impact. That includes cases where a driver disengages the system—or the system aborts—shortly before a collision.
The company compares FSD and manual driving inside the Tesla fleet using the same telemetry pipeline. It separates higher-severity collisions involving airbag or other restraint deployment from lower-severity non-deployment collisions, then reports miles per collision across road and control types.
Tesla says this fleet-scale data shows a clear safety advantage for FSD (Supervised). The company also acknowledges that its U.S. comparison requires assumptions because federal databases and Tesla telemetry do not collect every event in the same way.
Fleet-scale results describe millions of miles. They cannot tell an owner whether the car will hesitate at the next turn or reject a signal input.
FSD remains supervised in customer vehicles, and the person behind the wheel still has to be ready to take over.
The next few days should make the answer clearer. If v14.3.7 consistently removes the hesitation without giving back the progress in v14.3.6, it will be exactly what a good maintenance patch should be: less exciting on paper and much better from the driver’s seat.
